James- I wonder if the DFA 300 might not be available until 2008 -TOO long to wait, no?

Yeah it would be too long. Supersonic motor and weather sealed features kept me away from getting Fa 300/4.5 (even though they are quite rare as well).

james,
that lens was never meant to be hand held. it's just too heavy. my 500 weighs about 1k more and i waste a lot of shots using a monopod.. the lenses is VERY sharp at f2.8. 2x converter??? 600mm f5.6. not bad.

I'll bring around my manfrotto monopod this weekend, I think it is more solid than James's Velbon one.....

Drooooollllll...

Very VERY nice Roentarre! Lovely shots as well. I particularly like the purple flower, the berries, and the apricots - can almost feel the fuzz on that one!

Oh what a weekend of fun you and Joele are in for, and how jealous we all are!

Oh yeah, I just ordered the tamron 1.4X adaptor to try it out first tomorrow...

I will have to get back to you later on after trying 2X converter

Yeah it is really heavy and i did try on my manfroto tripod which is much sturdier for sure. Not that flexible.

Now I know how hard you had tried and how skilful you are to get your signature photo so sharp and in focus with takumar 500mm!

My shots are ordinary flower shots unlike your creativity of the beautiful lady skating in a pano. You are truely an inspiration everywhere i saw you posting.

I really want to test out how noisy the bokeh can be with ISO 400 instead 800. Will attempt to do some shots tomorrow.

I am now hooked on finding out where Fa 200 f/4 macro is and one of the forum member has just told me the info... I cannot wait to get it!
