Just want to share a pic.

This is my first trial with moon photo.
Taken by Pentax SMC DA* 200mm f/2.8, Pentax K-r
Pentax SMC 1.7x AF adapter x2
Cropped in ACDSee 2.5
Exposure value:
1/1000
f/13
ISO 1250

Hey arm_jstp, the moon is a great subject! Did you use a remote and the 3 second timer?

I did, picture looks a little blur may be from very high ISO or unsteady cheap tripod.

Next time use lower f-number and lower ISO
Also, you can take burst shots of moon (5-6) and then stack them in one to get sharper picture with less noise and much more details. There is software called Registax that many of us amatuer astronomers use to get better pictures.

Yeah, you should be able to get better quality with that lens combination. Lower ISO, tripod, 1/200 is more than quick enough on a tripod, I think.

I am bidding on the 1.7 Converter today wish me luck .
Plan on useing it with the DA* 200mm
I hear its better to do that than get the 300mm as the 200mm is sharper

Has anyone used a converter like this with a macro ?
