Bayonet Takumar 2.5/135 question

Do the different colours of the aperture numbers have any meaning? My first thought was about giving guidance when using a manual flash setting... set the aperture to the colour of the output level of the flash device (also colour coded).

But flashes had only red/green or red/yellow/green, where the lens has a blue f4, orange f8 and yellow f16...

Just silly design??????

it may be someone colored these aperture settings

usually pentax has white numbering.but for the record, my Sunpak autozoom 3000 has 4 settings, red, yellow green, and blue

In some cases, the aperture colours will correspond with the hyper-focal distance, which should be marked on the scale.

My 28mm 2.8 has a red f8 and red 10 foot mark. If you line them up, you are shooting at hyperfocal (without too much trouble).

My Takumar 135mm 2.5 has the same coloring scheme so it is definitely a factory thing.
