Lost DA35 Ltd Lens Cap. What viable alternatives?

I lost the lens cap for my lovely DA35 Ltd and could not find this anywhere in the house....or maybe i drop it somewhere else....whatever it is, i dont feel too good.

Where can i find another lens cap similar to the original one? Cant find this anywhere on the net.

i use a sony 'alpha' 49mm lens cap (from BH photo) which clears the retractable hood and is inexpensive.

Raider,
Go to your local store with your lens: they will have a replacement cap with a generic brand.

In Brisbane, Photo Continental has a wide range of lens caps and accessories. For example, I needed a replacement cap fro DA18-250mm and Tamron SP90mm and they have it.

I'm sure that you have a similar store in Perth.

Hope that the comment helps...

Sorry I wasn't clear in my description. I wasn't after those normal 49mm lens cap. Already have those somewhere. What I am after is a "clone" of the original Pentax metal lens cap for the DA35 Ltd. I could of course order this as a part no. from Pentax but I dont want to be paying a premium for a lens cap. I should be more careful knowing that the original lens cap is extremely difficult to replace! Too late now

Same goes for the DA 15 Ltd and FA 43 Ltd lens caps. I've put them away in their original boxes (not like I'm keeping that stuff for resale, those two lenses aren't leaving my possession!), and just use the old-style (F & FA ?) 49mm caps. Those fit right on with no problem. Of course this is no help to you now Raider, sorry!

you could buy a FA77 then you would have a lens cap, and an awesome lens to go with it...

I like to use a Case Logic sling bag that has the "hammock" suspension system, but I'm frustrated that it regularly pulls off the lens cap off my DA 35 Ltd. when I take the camera out.

I have a 49mm Pentax lens cap on my A 50mm 1.7, but it is slightly too small for the DA 35 Ltd. I'm wondering exactly which cap will work? If anyone has a link to caps that fit (generic is fine with me), please post.

Just use a 49mm squeeze cap (although if you ever plan to sell the lens, you should get an original to sell with it). I got something like this: Amazon.com: Fotodiox Inner Pinch Lens Cap, Lens Cover 49mm: Camera & Photo.

Thanks, I added it to my Amazon Wishlist. I definitely plan to keep the original, I actually love the concept of a pull-off cap . . . too bad it isn't a bit more secure.

I am curious why the lens cap off the A 50 1.7 doesn't work, it is 49mm.
