DA 18-250/ 18-135 compare shots

Just choose the free option to d/l the RAR folder.
Hotfile.com: One click file hosting: 2010-11-28 working test.rar

They are tested at 18, 50, & 135mm approx.
The first 3 are the 18-250 they are unedited and shot on a tripod with 2 sec delay. all shot in P mode.

Thanks for those pics! The 18-135 does seem to be noticably sharper than the 18-250.

I do find it curious, though, that the DOF in #3 and #6 seem to be very different (look at the foreground), even though the EXIF data says they have the same aperture. Focus on different things, perhaps?

Thanks again. I think this is may be the most important comparison given the comments of others.

Thank you very much for these comparsions. To me, it looks like the 18-135 is better at all three focal lengths.

Not surprising, but one thing that the 18-135 cant do...is go from 135-250

Thanks for the effort and results!
I actually wondered if there were any alternatives to the 18-135 and so I think this is perfect for this type of inquiry.

One thing I noticed at 135 is where the 18-125 seems to have much more CA due to being maxed out(I suppose). However what I found most interesting is that both images can be sharpened to look virtually identical in terms of image sharpness.

Having said that, does anyone know if there is a lens profile for the 18-135 that would address the color registration issues at maximum focal length?
