I will second that. The FA 28-105/3.2-4.5 is a great little lens - it's fairly fast and stopped down a bit it takes very satisfactory images.

When I travel light, all I take is the 28-105, the DA15 for wide angle shots and maybe my A28 F2 for low light.

DA 70 would be a nice split from the 45 on your zoom.

K 55 1.8 would be a nice budget alternative. See if you can find the k-mount version. It's a nice focal length on digital (almost 85mm on film).

DA 15 could come last if you find you would value a dedicated wide angle, at which point you could safely sell the 16-45. That would be a nice and compact set up.

The 15 would not be necessary unless you find yourself really loving wide angle photography, because the zoom is no slouch at 16mm.

I think I am going to add the DA70 and continue carrying the 16-45 for now. Perhaps next year, I will add the DA15.
Similar to my plan! (But before I add the DA15, I might add the 55-300 in order to have something longer than 70mm)

I use my 16-45mm 55-300mm combo and my 43mm for low light. I recently got the Tamron 28-105mm which I use if I don't want to have to change lens. It does a good job. Not as sharp as the others, but sharp enough.

I don't get it. ??

There are plenty of options in Pentaxland for the OP, especially considering light weight and small size is a priority.

I had a comment on this which was deleted during the server disaster, I'll phrase it differently this time:

I have never heard anything nice about that 17-85, it has been sold as a "better kit lens" with Canon bodies, but was never a good lens. The Pentax 17-70, for instance, is a much better lens. In fact, even the Canon 18-55 IS is better! dpreview's test shows that the 18-55 (IS version) is much better at the wide end, and better all the way up to 35mm, only above that the 17-85 gets better (and of course has longer range).
