43mm FA "special"?

Is there more than one type of 43mm FA F1.9 Limited?

Is there a "special" version? I'm only asking because I saw a flickr tag, but i just want to confirm here. thanks

I believe the "special" refers to SMC Pentax 43/1.9 Special L which is 43ltd with Leica mount.

There was also an early version of the K-mount 43/1.9 that had different coatings. It's been discussed in-depth on the forum.

This is true and I believe I'm one of the lucky ones to own this early version but these are never referred to as special or anything. They are just normal FA43ltd

It also comes with a 43mm viewfinder, but I prefer to stick with the built in 50mm framelines. I don't like to clutter up my Leica. Optically the FA43 and LTM 43 are identical although the LTM lens is longer than the SLR lens due to the fact that the FA43 was originally built for an SLR. The Pentax-L 43mm f/1.9 Special is substantially more flare resistant than the Zeiss G 45mm f/2.8 T* or the Voigtlander 40mm f/1.4 and on the Leica M9 it is VERY sharp.
