This new 'DC' focus designation

Few quick questions on the new 'DC' focus mechanism which Pentax has brought out in the 18-135mm lens. I'm someone who has considered SDM lenses, notably the 60-250mm. However I'm not sold on SDM, in terms of both reliability and speed. Does anyone know if DC is the new SDM? Or will SDM continue? Will Pentax replace SDM lenses with the DC mechanism?

I think only Pentax knows for sure. We will have to wait patiently for the next release before can can say (and I know how easily some people do that.)

Okay, so if SDM = Supersonic Drive Motor, what does 'DC' stand for?

I think ''DC'' is only for direct current... as in AC/DC current.
OH... and yes, maybe i'm wrong!

Yes, it is a direct current motor.
