SMC PENTAX 1:1.2/50 MM LENS (eBay item 320629079587 end time 17-Dec-10 10:56:07 AEDST) : Cameras

I've been trying to figure out which lenses I should buy to use with my
''new'' K20D....and I saw this lens was considered just about the best 50mm prime out there...of course there seems to be several versions even of this very confusing.
BUT I thought I'd post this link ...a ''lady'' from my home town has been selling a bunch of old camera bits and bobs...and this one came up.

it does seem to have fair signs of wear and tear but if it's optically and mechanically OK, then yes. It is one of the best 50mm out there for K mount. The only better IMO is it's A cousin (A50/1.2). As for versions... only two! K series as seen in the link (I have that one) it works in Av only wide open. Stopping down you need to use M mode and green button metering but it's easily workable, and honestly is probably the best lens I've shot!. And than the A series. Which is the same, but has A contact so works in Av, Tv, P & M modes without limitations, and has one more aperture blade compared to K series ( 9 vs 6)

There are few specials and subversions but they are not worth mentioning.

anyway, if you have funds, and don't mind MF and manual exposure, go for it. I really don't think you'll regret.

Maybe you should grab it quick. Now you've posted the link it won't be there long.

Worth the risk, I would think. Is it simply dirty, rather than battered?

Had one before it was nicked. Worked great.
