Override AF with DA 50-200?

I keep reading about the quick override feature of the SMC FA 50-200mm lens using a "quick twist". I've been overriding using the OK button.

How does this feature work with the lens?

Page 10/11 of the lens manual explains both the operation of the OK button and the quick twist manual focus. In autofocus mode, you use the manual focus ring to adjust it.

Quick shift focus is allowing the camera to focus, then with the shutter button still held down half way with your right hand (which also must take the weight of the camera) using your left hand to adjust the focus ring. You can't make it focus, release the shutter button from halfway, adjust focus, then take the photo because it will likely readjust the focus before it takes the photo. I rarely use it, I usually do it when using the DA16-45 at 16mm where focus accuracy is poor, so I set it to the right infinity point then forget about it - good for landscapes.

Thanks for the reply. So it is similar to using the OK button to disengage AF if you have it set to MF.
