Current Market Value for FA* and F* lenses

Just wondering what I could expect for these on Eekbay or in the Marketplace:

FA* 85 f=1.4 (9)

FA* 28-70 f=2.8 (8.5)

FA* 24 f=2 (9)

F* 300 f=4.5 (8.5)

F* series 1.7 autofocus teleconverter (matches above lens perfectly) (9)

DA 14 f=2.8 (9)

DA 18-55 II

DA 50-200 (non WR)

All are optically perfect, and have original hoods. Approximate condition score in brackets. 28-70 a little bit rattley (they ALL are). The 300 has the previous owner's social insurance number engraved on the rubber focussing thingy (inconspicuous), and has the tripod mount. All have original front and rear Pentax caps. I have the soft bags somewhere for the 300, the 24, and the 85.

AF 500 FTZ flash (TTL)

Metz Mecablitz 40 MZII with Pentax TTL module

Metz Mecablitz 40 MZIII with Pentax digital (wireless TTL) module

Metz wired offboard ttl flash cable (for stroboframe, etc.)

Not bailing on Pentax, just can't lift the big, heavy backpack anymore after having bypass surgery. Going smaller lighter. You can see examples of pretty much all of these lenses in my gallery here.

I'll take a quick stab, take it for what it's worth:

These prices assume you have the original hoods for all of them.

FA*85: $1100-1200
FA*28-70: $800-900
FA*24: $550-600
F*300: $800-900
1.7x AFA: $300-325
DA14: $450-500
DA18-55 II: $50-60
DA50-200: $90-100

Thanks, you guys....

Any interest in the flash units at all? They do work well from f=5.6 on down, and the Metz are powerful as hell.

Cheers,
Cameron

The DA prices seem pretty spot on, but I would guess that most of the F* and FA* lenses might fetch even higher prices than listed here (unless you're lucky). It of course depends on the shape of the lens. I've seen a pretty beat up F* 300 sell for about $750 on ebay, whereas a LN version sold at $1,340.

This are based on my observations and experience. These are assuming EX+ or better.

AF 500 FTZ flash (TTL) $150

Metz Mecablitz 40 MZII with Pentax TTL module $140

Metz Mecablitz 40 MZIII with Pentax digital (wireless TTL) module $195 for flash uncertain about Pentax module.

Metz wired offboard ttl flash cable (for stroboframe, etc.) I can't guess on this

That's true, there have been several F/FA* lenses listed for higher prices on here, but keep in mind the listed price isn't always the final price

The F*300 is tricky because it is highly sought after and there aren't a lot for sale. However, at the end of the day despite the fact that some people prefer it to the DA*300, it tough to justify spending a lot more on a used F*300 than a new DA*300. Again, I realize some people prefer the screw drive and the build-in hood of the F*, but the DA* is weather sealed and has a faster max aperture.

I think the prices of the FA*24 and FA*85 are about right at 550-600 and 1100-1200. A truly mint copy with original box might go a little higher, but otherwise I think you'd have to get lucky as a seller to get much more. Again, that's not set in stone as it's a free market and things are worth whatever people are willing to pay for them. However, having bought and sold over 100 lenses over the past year, there is usually a pretty fine line below which a lens will sell quickly and above which it will typically sit unsold.
