Hmmm... is it the same lens as produced these images? (second is at minimum focusing distance):

I'd say if it was, I wouldn't be surprised (not saying that it is, because I'm not 100% certain). Seems to have traits in equal measures: no real optical flaws except low contrast and not so-stellar sharpness (stellar meaning Super Tak 50mm 1.4 sharp). This lens of mine does have some fringing but the bokeh is quite good, even stopped down.

Certainly stopped down. However, as much as I wish it was that lens, it definitely is not the Sonnar 200mm. I was also wrong on the sharpness front; I'm pretty sure that the Zeiss is sharper. Hard to tell with resized images. That and the Zeiss has a stop on my lens...

Another one: the Zeiss has a slightly shorter minimum focusing distance than my lens, quite funny actually.

I did try it but couldn't figure out how to apply shift in portrait orientation... I guess I missed something

K28shift can also rotate 360 degree, and apply shift.
Nice shoots ;-)

OK, here's the next one (or two):

Hint: it's Pentax and AF.

How does one rotate the lens on the camera?

If you look at the photo of the lens,
- the K-mount,
- then follows the rotation wheel (clicked into positions)
- then follows the shift rotation (clicked into positions)
- then the focus ring, infinity >3m, very good to focus
- then double aperture rings

Regarding photos of DanielT74,

It can be the DA*16-50. The distance is close and it don't have to be wide open.
Based on the bench in background, I guess it is at f4-f5.6. It is harder to guess if the lens is a zoom. These look like to come from a 50 to me.

My best guess is a 50mm prime AF.

Here's one from 16-50mm a little bit stopped down from the second pic:

And here's one at f3.2:

Do they both look quite different from the ones above or is it just me?

In particular the swirly bokeh that you can spot in the first photo, I don't think DA*16-50 does it.

Another one indoor (by the "mystery lens" at f3.2):

Oh, we haven't finished with tackyat.2's 2 pics.

I really don't know any other m42 200mm lenses. Say Super-Takumar 200/4?

They are different. The two first are sharper, buttery bokeh. Those must come from a prime. You listed the 43 earlier, but I can't find uniqueness in the photo, so I stay with 50mm.
I don't have the 16-50 due to bad reputation of failure, and no money to risk. Nice bokeh in the last photo!

Just curious, how many kids do you have?

Prime, you reckon? No, not prime (maybe prime quality?)! Maybe I shouldn't sell this lens... (I think I've given it away now)
The first pic was at 48mm f2.8 and the second at 70mm f5 (now I've definitely given it away

As for kids, here's another one (DA*16-50 at 2.8 for bokeh) and the second is the mystery lens (at f2.8):

PS We have 3 kids, but only one in the pics above is mine.

It is the Super Takumar 200mm f4, DanielT74. No SMC coating, so the contrast is not very good.

The mystery lens has a slightly different contrast than the DA*, is it the Pentax FA* 28-70?
