Correct, my tacky friend!

It is FA*28-70 indeed and I am feeling more reluctant to sell it every day.

OK I'll play !

Not sure how to give clues for this one. Hmm under 100mm / over 28mm / not your standard lense by any means. New lense for me and this is one of the first shots I've taken with it. Not a macro lense. Straight out of the camera other than I had to hit auto curves since I left the WB in the wrong mode from last night !

Nope. Hmm since I have that I'll have to do a comparison but the colours and bokeh of this lense seem far superior.

That rules out all Pentax/Chinon/Ricoh K or m42, leving Pentacon (already excluded), Meyer Görlitz, Rollei, Zeiss, and a couple of reincarnations of Sears, Vivitar and other odd 3rd party...what did I forget? Some Yashica, Fujinon...

I have the FA28-70 (not star). It's an ok lens, but since then I stop looking into FA lenses. May be I will find myself this one ;-)

Regarding Frogfish's photo,
As Douglas stated, there are so many out there, 50mm, f1.8, 6 blades, MF, ... There is visible PF on the wings... How long did you hunt for this lens?

One of the old Zeiss's like Ultron 50/1.8 (which I am aching to convert from the bayonet mount).

Actually no, I think Ultron has 5 blades and the bokeh here is hexagonal. Probably Pancolar 50/1.8 or Pentacon 50/1.8.
