Sorry, my applogises, I copy pasted the wrong image link location for the light house, now it is the correct one.

It is not the K30 or K20 (still on my shopping list), not the K17 or K28/3.5 (great landscape lens, but not wide enough here). Not the FA20 either, though that was an alternative when I bought this lens.

It is not a Pentax, nor a Takumar.
The longer faster brother is a 30mm f1.4 which I think at least some of you have.
Now it should be easy.

K17/4.0 ?
Seems to me the bented horizon and perspective tells us it is at least a 18mm or wider.
Or even a fisheye.....
Sorry, I misslead you. The incorrect image link went to a picture of the same subject (the lighthouse), shot with the DA10-17.

I have the same lens and I don't have a high opinion of it. Very soft wide open and bad contrast.

How do you find your copy?

Hint: shot wide open, and lens is AF

Quite good actually. Pentax has nothing similar in their current line. What I looked for was an equivalent of a 28/2, but for APS-C. Of course wide open it lose in contrast and sharpness, but that is sort of an optical law. It surprised me how good the corners were, but it is of course a FF lens. I have only two compains: it is large, very heavy...and at low temperatures (say below -15C) the autofocus sometimes give in. As well built as plastic can be.

Can't say that I've had mine at -15C

Next to my other 2 primes (FA43 & Fa77) it is very weak.

I think I may have a bad copy.

next to 43 + 77 many lenses will seem weak
