I was gonna say the FA 31 f1.8, but the shoulder that's in focus still looks a bit soft. Is it the sigma 30 f1.4?

Also: Douglas, you shoot primarily with film bodies right? Maybe we should collectively state wether we shot a specific photograph with film, or cropped sensor, and if the output has been cropped when we post an image!
It depends on how you count...

I have about 10 times as many film SLRs than I have DSLRs.
I probably spend about 50-50 of my time with them.
But I also probable make something like 10 times as many exposures with the DSLRs. Different style of shooting.

But it is a good idea. I suggest everyone state what format the pictures where shot in and if there were any post exposure cropping. Otherwise it risk being more guessing than detective work. And remember we could have full frame film, full frame DSLR if someone mount the lens on Canon body, APS-C, 4/3rd, even if we just talk about an ordinary MF Pentax lens.

It is, you won
It's technically capable of better pictures than this and I have some, but can't share those on the net.

Woot! OK, I've learned my lesson and will give you guys a couple pictures this time!

Crop sensor, the last photo has been cropped slightly on the top. I'll give the apertures the photos were taken at if there is trouble guessing (which I doubt with a crowd like you guys!)

All images can be clicked to view the original size.

Zoom-zoom,
My bet goes for fast, AF, 200 to 300mm, non-Pentax or Pentax but non-DA (e.g. FA or F) lens. I assume you didn't play with contrast or colors during pp'ing (except obvious b/w conversion for the 1st shot).

Oh... I think I can guess the lens color: it's black!

I had my suspicions, then I confirmed it. I'm out on this one too.

I am guessing DA*300, the bokeh in the second pic is typical of the A*/FA*/DA* lenses from what I've seen. It's nice and crisp also. Could be the A*300 or FA*300. Look closer than the 200mm to me, but I am not sure.

Yes yes, this is the A* 300! I haven't published many photos taken with this lens, and even less with any visible bokeh, good educated guesses straight from the get-go!

the REDs and detail somehow gave it away.

Is the M*300 optical identical to the A*300?

As an added aside: I was forced to shoot the second picture through a rather thick pane of dirty glass. You can see areas of unsharpness if you look hard, but this was still the best picture out of that (through the glass) series.

not bad shooting thru the glass. one of the things I hate shooting on such scenario is if the glass is dirty, presence of scratches and reflections. although the slight reflection could work for effects on certain photography.
