Interesting!
Thanks!
The 50/1.2 is quite good!

Cool fact sheet!

The 1.2 looks incredible, but I was also shocked at how well the humble k55 held it's own against the most advanced glass.

Thanks for posting! I have all four of these lenses and the K50/4 Macro is the sharpest.

Not sure if I'm misreading something but looking only at contrast and resolution graph it seems to me that 50 1.2 is doing worse than rest of the lenses. Correct me if I'm wrong....

Right but what you normally read is that the 1.2 is much worse than the others fully open. This is, at least in this test, not the case. It is only minimally worse.

That is my exact experience as well, also having all four lenses (although I have optically identical SMC Takumar versions for two of them). As to it's corners, either they didn't even get a great sample of the lens, or the lens really shines with the crop on APS-C, because mine is Tak-sharp throughout the frame.

Thanks for posting this Nesster.

You're welcome.
The bars on the charts represent the other lenses in the same category, so it's easy to see where each lens falls relative to others. There's 7 more pages of these charts - Leica M, Nikon, Canon FD, Minolta, Konica, Vivitar, Olympus + a 2 page intro spread on flickr - follow the link on the bottom of the pic to find them.

Thanks for posting these Nesster.

Always fun to look at the performance tests of some of our older lenses.

I agree, fully open its doing well - it's highly regarded lens. I was just comenting at overall performance - usual use(stopped down two or three stops) the other lenses look a bit better. But i suppose for bokeh, depth of sharpness creativity it might be dominating the rest.

Yeah they are a great set of lenses in any mount!
