Quick question - what's this?

Seen on ebay... I know what the lens is, but what's the thing on the right?
Haven't seen an end cap like that, I don't think. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong.

looks like a screw on lens cap

Oh, it is a lens cap? OK! Looked like a reversing adapter or something.

Could have been a reversing adapter but it's solid on the far side (maybe it is with a cap attached to it?

That's what I thought... Couldn't see a reason for the edge diameter to be much greater than the thread diameter unless something bigger went on the other side. But if there's a lens cap that looks like that, that's what it is.

Could it be a pinhole 'lens' lens cap?

Could be a T-mount adapter withe a rear cap on it.

With a 49mm diameter and what looks like it could be a rear lens cap on the other side I'm guessing it's a reversing ring.

+1 to reversing ring opinion with the lens cap on the bayonet side...
