Hello - I recently came across a Soligor 85-205 macro + zoom lens. This must have been from the 70's in my estimation. Looks decent enough. I bought on a whim to try out the macro function, but I'll be darned if I can't figure it out...

Is there some sort of lock ring on this that allows it to function?

If there's anyone out there who can help, it would surely be appreciated.

I can post a pic of the lens if it would help anybody.

1) Move the zoom ring to the front of the lens.
2) There is a ring with Macro written on it in yellow letters (its by the aperture ring) you gotta pull it towards the front of the lens.

I have a Soligor 85-210 f3.8 macro. Ø62mm. Build in hood. macro 1:3 - 1:4 - 1:6 - 1:10. Minimum aperture f22. Minimum focus distance less than 1.7 meter/5.5 feet.

Got this lens from a friend. Long and heavy. Very nice front element. Unlike other zooms, it has following adjustments: distance, zoom, macro and aperture. Seems difficult to use. Haven't try it on digital body. Still waiting for my focus screen to arrive. Can it be the same lens?

It is a very nice lens
There is a ring for the macro.it goes from 1:10 to 1:3
I am using it on my Cannon 5D with a Fotasy adapter
