Yeah, it's confirmed. It just keeps getting delayed.

which is really annoying. having said that, I think Sigma saved Pentax bottom by releasing the 85 and 150 for the K-mount. been contemplating on getting an SD1 if these weren't available.

Yep, I also think the 150 macro is tempting, but it's definitely a back-burner thing for me, especially for what they want for it.

Holy crap!

Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM - Page 115 - Canon Digital Photography Forums

Based off of this thread ^ I'd say this lens is EXACTLY what I want. I cannot believe how sharp it is..... the green fringing is quite bad in the bokeh but definitely bearable and seemingly easy to remove. In focus fringing looks to be less than the M 85mm @ F/2 which is good.

now how does a 16 year old go about getting $900?

im not sure I could pull off the drug dealer persona

According to my calculations, it will take me 60 weeks to save up $900

You could always sell some gear, get a part time job, or sell a kidney?

Abes of Maine used to discount all Sigmas 10% when you put them in your cart. Maybe they'll do that again sometime in the next year. That'd save you like 6 weeks. You could also ask for part of it for next Christmas or maybe for your birthday. Or maybe by then you'll decide you don't want it so bad after all.

I wish I could sell some gear, but everything I'd be fine with selling is in to bad of a condition to get a decent price for them (M 28mm F/3.5 im not convinced can focus at infinity, Sigma has a big dent on the filter ring, etc.). Job is impossible to get at my age without hookups where I live.

The latter might just work though! hahahahah

That would be awesome, though doubtful.

My birthday is actually in 9 days, so maybe I'll get lucky and my rich grandparents will decide to hook me up

you serious? that green fringing on the Sigma is nothing compared to the M85's blue fringing. that blue fringing is a real PITA under strong lighting and faster apertures. I would have love to use the M85 from f2 to f4 without worrying about that fringing under such situations. although I do escape most of the time using it at f4 with a lil PP help. f2-f2.8 though would require a lot of help. but for B&W, it's a joy to use.

I already did my math and from what it appears, I had to sell 6 of my priced lenses in exchange for the Sigma 85 and 150. all of which covers the focal lengths the two new Sigmas cover. namely, Sigma 70 (miss the focal length wideness), J-9 (rendering but not too bad), M85 (how am I suppose to compare it with the Sigma 85?), S190 (ouch), FA100 (ouch), and FA135 (ouch). the last 3 lenses would hurt me most.

Like I said, in the bokeh its nearly perfect, but the in-focus regions seem to be better with the sigma but definitely not perfect.

I use the M 85mm @ F/2 exclusively, and find it very easy to fix in PP when it does show up.

For the first time ever I can say I am impressed by a Sigma lens. Crazy LOCA but that is not unexpected. Sharpness is really amazing wide open. Thankfully I have the FA77 and so do not need to save my pocket money.

SLR Gear test and review -- don't think this was posted.
