Advice on 'walking around' zoom lens

Currently I use a Sigma 17-70 F2.8-4 OS as my main 'walking around' lens on my K20D, whilst also usually carrying a Sigma 10-20 F4-5.6 and 70-200 F2.8.

Whilst I'm pretty happy with the 17-70, I wonder if there is anything nicer out there? Constant F2.8 would be useful (in fact the reason I chose the Sigma 17-70 over the Pentax is that the Sigma at least offers F2.8 at the wide end). So, I'm open to suggestions - Pentax or third party. I'll use the lens for general purpose shooting and maybe some close up sports where the 70-200 is too long (so decent AF is important to me).

Cheers,
Qiki

i think wide zooms like the DA 12-24mm or the Sigma 10-24mm deserve some attention.

I already have a Sigma 10-20mm, so I've got the wide angle covered. The 17-70 I'm currently using is OK. I'm just wondering if there's anything better/faster that I could look at.

Perhaps a cheap, used, screwmount, fast 50mm or other would meet your low-light requirements. Many people say you must have one.

I second that. Great lens at a good price, it's a nice complement to your 10-20.
