Loose lens barrel

I have a Pentax 28-105 and I'm really happy with this lens, it's about 3 months old and I bought it brand new. Lately, when the lens is facing the floor, or I want to shoot downwards, the barrel drops out. Is this easy to repair?

as far as i know - nope.. this is lens creep and i've yet to find a REAL solution for it because it's indicative of the design. too heavy a front element
BUT, i was told how to control it if you're willing to use the method.
take a wide rubber band about the same diameter size as the barrel and put it on the lens with some of it on the zoom/focus ring and some on the part of the barrel below it. this will give you a little more friction to stop the movement..
hope this helps.
