over 50with smooth OOF?

Hi all,
to all of you who have been around a bit here with me, you'll know I'm "bit" of a speed freak and I like my OOF areas to be smooth and buttery to say so. Now FA*24 is not the best in this but 31 is superb. 43 limps a bit again but K50/1.2 saves the day every time needed. Now, I have 77ltd and it's great, I love it and I think the rendering is great, it offers good FOV (IMO) albeit bit long for my preferences, but the OOF even wide open are not as good as from my 31+50/1.2 combo. Is there any lens over 50 (ideally longer than 58 for those who will think of Nokton) that would rival the two above mentioned in terms of OOF rendering?

Thanks for any tips ans pointers...

The 100mm macro WR has great OOF (curved blades). Too long though, maybe? And it's "only" f2.8...

from the examples I've seen it's no better than FA77, I'd even say worse... but no I haven't tried but I don't really intend to.

I've tried FA100/2.8 macro and loved id but the f2.8 is a deal breaker for me (unless I don't have some other lens that is fast) and unlike DFA it has focus limiter so AF is quicker...

specific question, anybody has examples from K85/1.8 ?!?

I know your probably going to disagree, but I find the M 85mm to VERY RARELY disappoint in the bokeh department.

There are quite a few lenses to consider.
Here are some examples:

A* 85/1,4 @2,5

Red Dots - No Award

FA 80-320 @320mm wide open

Profil

Sigma 55-200 @200mm wide open (presumably)

Spatz

Elicar Macro 90/2,5 @f5,0 close focus

Rest

I could be mistaken, but I was under the impression that the A*85 and FA77 were closer in design than the A*85 and FA*85.

I've always found the FA*85 to be very smooth, a bit better than the DA*55 and FA77. Not sure how it directly compares to the A50/1.2; perhaps a few test shots this weekend to compare them all? Do you have a suggestion for the best setup to be able to compare two lenses of different focal lengths? Inother words, would you frame the object so it was the same size or leave the distance from the camera to the focal point the same and just let the magnification be different?

One more vote for the m85/2.0.
There are all kinds of nice bokeh but the m85 renders smooth.

How about the legendary Bokina (either the Vivitar Series 1 or Tokina AT-X 90mm f2.5 version). It may not be as fast as you want, but it is a lengend for both sharpness and bokeh. In my opinion, it is the best macro lens for both sharpness and bokeh in the range. After all, it got that nickname for a reason.

You may also want to think of an even longer lens, which will help smooth out most backgrounds a little more anyway, like the K135/2.5, or dare I mention the A*135/1.8...

Peter,

why don't you try out the Samyang/Rokinon 85/1.4 ? the bokeh is buttery smooth. as Mactak mentioned, if you don't mind the S190/Vivitar 90mm speed (f2.5), it displays a great bokeh. the only downside though is that the 90mm macro is not that easy to find. so your best beat would be the Samyang.

the new Sigma is also great but I prefer the Samyang's bokeh better. also, the delay in the release for the K-mount is also a problem.
