I have used both. The Tamron 90mm on a Canon Rebel XTi and the Sigma on my Pentax cameras (K10D, K7, and K5). They are similar in performance, but the Sigma has slightly longer focal length. So the distance to the subject is slightly further, thus the lens blocks less light, but now we are splitting hairs.
