This lens is in the review database and has been reviewed by a large number of this forum's members:

Takumar 135mm F2.5 Bayonet Lens Reviews - Pentax Lens Reviews & Pentax Lens Database

There are some example shots there, but it is probably more helpful to read what they say than to judge by the photos alone.

The screwmount 135/2.5 is reviewed in the database here:

Yeah, it's buried under the K-mount lens section in "Non-SMC & Other Pentax Primes".

yeah, that explains it, wow this lens is loved or hated, I think I might bit the bullet. Some of the samples are nice imo.

This swayed me, yeah I will grab it, I do want a nice 135mm prime since my 70-210 vivitar series 1 can get a bit heavy.

Yes, it's not a bad lens - make sure you use the built-in lens hood, as it's not multi-coated, and don't expect best sharpness wide open. But most of all, don't pay too much for this lens!

(A lot of dealers use the fact that it's easy to confuse it with the much superior, and much rarer, screwmount Takumar 135/2.5, and charge exorbitant sums. You shouldn't really pay more than about $35 for one in really good condition.)

I got it. I think it sucks... In sunlight its useless. Everything feels cloudy but still sharp at 2.5 and it got really bad CA. I got CA when taking pictures of my guitar indoors. ^^ Sorry.

If you can get it for a good price, go for it. It sounds like you know what you're getting into. I like mine. Here's a shot wide open.

Rumor has it that this lens exists in two versions, one of which is better than the other and marked "Asahi Opt. Co. Japan (...)". The golden JDMC mark gives it away too.
No particular evidence for this, but may be something to remember. It also seems to be one of the few Pentax lenses with half aperture stops throughout the range, which is a bit weird, I think, given how the aperture stops are for the SMC lenses.
