I think the Tamron AF 90mm Di Macro is a keeper

I tracked down a Tamron AF 90mm Di Macro via Ebay in Japan, no kidding the first good experience was the purchase, paid on the 4th, shipped on the 5th, and in my hands in Brisbane on the 8th. A good omen I think.

The proof is in the using, first shot of a dandelion up close and personal.

This is a weird one, the dead stalk of a Queen Palm fruit cluster, loved it.

This is a great lens, smooth action and I do not have to put my face on the subject to get close enough.

Thanks, it blew me away too... I was holding the dandelion in my hand as it was windy, fluked the shot, fixed focus.

I just picked mine up the other day .... and I haven't had a chance to really get to use it ... but will post up some pics when I get a chance to though.

All I can say ... the images are extreme crisp indeed.

Thanks Simon, can't wait till the weekend.. should have some fun with it. Weather has been a bit windy since I got it, not good for macro work and I usually shoot hand held.

Tell me about it ... the wind has been hell down here in Sydney as well.
Not fun trying to take photos of flowers in the garden.

I am hoping to get some time to get out with the camera as well ... as i want to have a play around with the 90mm as well ... will see waht bugs/spiders/flies I can find (and hope they sit still as well).
