Cosinon-w 24mm 2.8

Hi all,

Am new to the forums, and am looking for my second lens purchase. Am looking for a relatively "cheap" but good wide angle prime lens... was eyeing the SMC 24mm, but that seems difficult to find.

The Cosina / Cosinon-W seems like a good alternative, but can't seam to find any info on the 24mm performance.

Can anyone help?

Try Vivitar 24mm as they are reasonable in term of price and provide very good IQ. Check the Vivitar threads to see some pictures.

Light scratches on front element generally tend not to affect the IQ. Although they may show up when shooting into the light sources...

It also matter where the scratches are. If they are in the center of the front lens they will degrade contrast and cause flare at all appertures. If they are close to the edge of the front lens, their influence will be minimal when you close down.

I think that scratched 24mm have been for sale several times on ebay.

I have the RMC Tokina 24/2,8 - it out-resolves the K-7 and K20 and delivers good IQ.
