Rio, they *tend* to be consumer lenses. There are a few obvious exceptions to the rule - the biggest ones I know: the Pentax DA 10-17 (excellent piece of engineering) and the Tamron 10-24.

Not to mention the amazing Olympus zooms, like the 12-60mm f/2.8-4 and the 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5.
