I have a fantasy that I would simplify my hobby, sell everything I own and replace it with a K-5 and the three FA Limiteds. The money math just works out.

Then I say:
except the K35/3.5.
And the Series 1 105/2.5.
And my K2DMD.
And the K135/2.5.

And then the math doesn't work any more.

My Pentax-mountable lineup is pretty full. Focal lengths aren't the issue. Speed isn't really the issue, since I have 16/2.8, 24/2, 35/2, 50-55/1.4, 85/2, 135/2.5. No, character is the issue. My LBA? The current fantasy:

* More old German preset primes with zillions of iris blades for bookoo bokeh.
* More cheapo super-fast projector lenses, with or without iris diaphragms.
* Maybe an m4/3 cam so I can accumulate short-register lenses. I'm doomed.
* Then maybe a bunch of junked film rangefinders to dissect for their lenses.
* In the ABA category: a good slide/neg scanner (must go from 135/HF to 6x9).

More problematic is GSA (gear selling addiction) area. I gotta sell stuff. I gotta pile of Minolta stuff to sell, and must split the proceeds with the in-law who owns them. I gotta sell some electronics: Teac PortaStudio, Roland and MiniMoog analog synths, Monorail computer, MixMan DJ board, whatever. Then I can fantasize about m4/3 acquisitions. That scanner will maybe prevent me from fantasizing about an FF dSLR. Get thee behind me, A850!

Ideally a SMC Pentax-A* 400mm F2.8 ED [IF] or at a push SMC Pentax-A* 300mm F2.8 ED [IF] at sensible money.

Edit: Oh and the matched converters (Rear Converter-A 1.4x-L & Rear Converter-A 2x-L) would be nice too.

I'm really after the FA 31 and 43 to go along with my 77.
But if I don't get off this spending spree of K, M and A lenses I'm on right now I may never have the funds for it...

I got the K-5 last week so I can cross it off the list of things to buy in 2011.

Now for future items:
1. A high-end, weather-sealed lens longer that my DA*300.
2. A weather-sealed, fast, normal lens like a DA*28/1.4

My LBA and CBA have gone into hibernation for a while Now what I really want is 1GB/s read / write from my storage on my pc! Have a plan, know how to do it, waiting for the bits to arrive really. Then its a 31Ltd for sure!

OK, I'll play even though I have pretty much shot my wad already. I had a little premature acquisition.

K-5
DA 35mm Macro Ltd.
1:1 Macro in the 100mm range

I'm leaning towards the Tamron 90mm, but I have to finish selling enough gear to finish paying for the K-5 before I worry about that.

The only thing on the horizon is a DFA100WR
...but the budget is a bit tight at the moment.

I've been a good boy though, the only thing i've bought in the last 6 months is a $9 step ring.
