2011 LBA...

Just sold a Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 because I didn't find it 'wide' enough,
and now thinking my DA 12-24mm f4 isn't 'fast' enough (night pics)

Chances are very good I might be buying a DA 14mm f2.8 soon!

  • D FA 100mm Macro WR
  • ZEISS 50MM F/2 ZK MAKRO-PLANAR T*
  • Pentax K5
My LBA/CBA tells me that once I buy all the items above I will be completely 100% cured for good. It always tells me that.

For me:
Grip for K-7,
FA 31
DA 15
M 85 or A 100
And DA* 300
And have to see what is that DA 12-35 WR going to look like. ...

Sigma 8-16mm, because you can never have too many UWA lenses, right?
Tamron 90mm Macro, because I've wanted one for years & for some reason I've never pulled the trigger.

It won't happen - FA 77.

But I think I won't be buying any lenses for a long time, until I can afford things like the FA 77.

Maybe if I saw an FA*600 or an FA*250-600 the collector in me might be tempted, but I don't foresee that happening. I did see an FA*300 f/2.8 the other day that has me thinking, but it's 3.5x the price of a DA*300. Can that be rationalized?

I barely have the time to use the stuff that I have now. Maybe I should look into time management.

Oh gosh.

DA 15
and
D-FA 100 WR
are both definitely on the LBA list...

An expanded "wish list", though, includes:
DA* 50-135 and the FA 77. Just a dream, though.

Pentax 70-200/f2.8. Oh wait, they don't make one.
Pentax 1.4x TC. Oh wait, they don't make one.
How about a Sigma HSM compatible 1.4x TC. Oh wait, they don't make one.
Ah yes, the Sigma 120-300/f2.8! Cheap as chips.

I just scratched my 2011 itch - just bought a K-x, and very happy with it too.

Sigma 8-16mm! I am really excited about getting this lens. The only real downside is the lack of weather-sealing, so here is to hoping that Pentax wakes up and makes a DA* UWA! (maybe even figure out how to get down to 8mm as well)

Actually I skipped the FA43 and went straight to the 50mm f/1.2 - the super-speed 50 is sharper than the FA43 in the corners at f/2 at f/4 they are basically the same. the FA31 is the real gem of the FA limited line up IMO.

as for me;

CBA : Pentax 645 Digital - I already have a ton of 645 and 67 lenses, I have the adaptor to use the 67 lenses on 645. So all that i'm doing now is saving up for it.

LBA: the recently announced Pentax SMC-645 25mm f/4 AL [IF] SDM
