As TC for sigma 100-300?

Good morning to you all,
I know that TC, add to my new Sigma 100-300 f / 4.
I was lucky enough to find a new one! was the last one

I was thinking:
Kenko Pz-AF Teleplus 1.5X SHQ Teleconverter
Tamron 1.4x MC4 (strongly recommended by a user)
other??

I already have the Pentax 1.7 x af, but I find it useful on MF lenses.
Then I have the vivitar 2x macro MC7. (but I lose the AF)

The Sigma 1.4 x I am not convinced that is made for long ...
seems only a 1.3 x?!?

TKX

I had the kenko 1.5x shq and it worked well on the sigma, of course the SR isn't quite as effective as it should be because the FL isn't added to the camera but it worked fine. The pentax didn't work as well on mine as the aperture didn't close down to the proper amount for some reason. I looked in the lens where it should have been going to f5.6 on the lens and it wasn't really stopping it down to the proper setting. The EXIF on my 100-300mm also was reading a 70-200mm f2.8 (per photome) so that may have been the problem. After I discovered that problem I used the aperture ring with the 1.7x afa and it worked fine. Just something you might want to check.

I understand, the Kenko, run, the AF motor of Sigma.
But the level of IQ, it is better or your Kenko Your Pentax?
thanks

I don't remember doing a comparison test, but they both worked pretty good after I discovered the problem with the aperture on the 1.7x. The exposure was off because of it and not stopping down to the right position for max sharpness. Yours may be different though. I would find some examples, but since they don't tell you in the EXIF what TC if any you used I can't be sure what's what. I did use the kenko mostly on the sigma and the 1.7x on my DA300mm. I ordered the sigma TC when I got the 100-300mm and did a quick test against the kenko and to me the kenko looked equal so I returned the sigma TC. I got the kenko from KEH for about $45.

I managed to find a sample I am sure was with the Kenko 1.5x shq and the 100-300mm. Hope it helps.
