Pentax K 50mm f1.4: no f1.7 stop?

Hello - I was lucky to get a K 50mm 1.4 in excellent off ebay. I managed to take some shots with it, even if I'm seriously damaged by a terrible flu. I think I like it more than the Tak 50mm 1.4 I once had... There is only one problem with it, though: the lens does not make a half stop between 1.4 and 2. Is this a characteristic of the lens or a small fault of my copy?

Thank you for your anwser!

Mine does this as well, looks like it was designed that way.

Interesting. Because on my copy there is no click between f/1.4 and f/2.
And I'm pretty certain there weren't different versions of that lens.

Sorry, I failed to include the negation: there is no f1.7.

The difference between f1.7 and f2 is so small you will never notice it. Congrats!

As a simple rule (can I say that ?) pentax lenses usually have a full stop at each end of the aPerture scale and half stops in the middle

I think it's fair to say that, though I'd say it is more rarer to find a half stop in the end of the scale than in the beginning.

As for OP, K50/1.4 has no half stop in the beginning.
