Web with spider, and bokeh. The world turned upside down can just barely be seen in the biggest dew drops near the spider.

I picked up a Vivitar Series 1 28mm f/1.9 from a forum member this week, and I'm happy to say this Tokina-made lens is way, way better than the Kiron 28/2 I had at one point, at least to my eyes.

Here are a couple images I made yesterday and edited today, the lens wide open at f/1.9. The first shot was at ISO 3200, while the second was at ISO 800. I underexposed both shots (not on purpose), so they're both a little noisier than I'd like. I made some adjustments in LR, of course, setting the sharpening at 81/1.8, my usual settings these days.

I think the lens is pretty sharp even wide open, though it's definitely sharper at f/2.8 and up. But the bokeh seems smooth and pleasing to me, especially in the second shot with the green bottle. . . .
