Originally posted by Aaron28 it's frustrating at times but overall I really enjoy tinkering around and cleaning up my wayward 'patients'.....in most cases the 'patient' is already not functioning or not properly so if I am not successful no loss....clean it up and it's a display piece.....I have gotten lucky quite a few times and have a decent line up of 'patients' waiting on their roll of film to at least test!!
I do have some crazy 'tools' and its interesting the things to use
There's a guy in Australia (sigh) who works on Kodak Retina Reflexes, and has posted a step-by-step tear-down, repair, and rebuild of a Retina Reflex S. I've thought of sending mine down there for him to work on since I don't think I have the gumption or faith in my skills to effect such repairs myself. Oh, yes--especially since it needs a new leaf shutter since someone my dad let borrow the camera wound up poking the leaf shutter and bending the blades. (Argh.) The Retinas are mechanically intricate, but that makes them sometimes more prone to problems and certainly makes them harder to work on.
But looking at your spread of tools on the table makes me wonder about at least thinking about opening up the Retina Reflex S. . . .
It sure is fun seeing all the photos of your tools and gear, though, Aaron!
