It's quite unique and definitely something else than your average scotch or bourbon bottle, while also being plain and pragmatic.

Too early to tell, I've only had one sip of it so far and the 51.4% abv are a bit too much for my tastebuds to be able to cherish a whisky that's supposed to be floral and delicate. I've got no problem with 48% abv in a Laphroaig Quarter Cask, but I think I'll dilute my next dram of this one with a little water. But I've had a glass of another Japanese blend at new year's eve, an Akashi from White Oak Distillery, and that was unmistakenly not a scotch (high grain content), but very nice. So I think the Nikka (which has a great reputation) will not disappoint. Perhaps I'll have to let it sit for a while, I've made the experience that I'll enjoy a Whisky more the longer I've had it oxzidize (in a half empty bottle or a glass in front of me, but when it's in the glass it is too tempting too wait
).
