Another morning, another look at the onion peel. . . . (For David, who finds these a-peeling. . . . Ha!)

This time I used my A 100/2.8 macro, the aperture at f/5.6.

I'm not sure about other locations , but locally these flowers are everywhere, in every other garden, along roadsides, out along trails.Hardy and vigorously self propagating (dug out all of this patch two years back because it had become too dense with the plants). I was also experimenting with a 50~200mm Pana/Leica lens to see how it performed at close distances. Some images were taken with a Canon 500D close-up filter attached. IQ was very good.
One from me ... "Pointer" ...

My first digital camera was a Panasonic FZ-15 4MP with a 12x Leica zoom on it. I finally sold it last summer at a yard sale, but part of me hated giving up that lens. It really was sharp, and it had a wide aperture of f/2.8 at all zoom settings. So I'm not surprised that you liked the image quality with your zoom!

The background is almost obliterated here, but the outlines of some bokehed foliage visible. Another flower from scattering of mixed wildflower seeds two and three years back, so either a perennial species or from natural reseeding, less likely a seed I scattered that lay dormant for two years (some seeds can do that and more).

Those two photos of lilies made with the Topcon are really nice, pepperberry. There's a mood the bokeh evokes which is very compelling.

Jacques Lacan said something along the lines that "The purpose of language is not to inform, but to evoke." I think that holds for the language of light, too.

Thanks for posting those.
