Was wobbling between posting this here or in the Sears thread. Since I didn't want to double post over there, this thread wins.

Sears 50mm f/2.0, wide open.

EDIT: Just noticed the rather hideous fringing here. Probably will fix that later.

Another new "Franken-lens" creation ... a S.F.O.M. 140mm f/3.2 projector lens (6x6 format) with bellows on the K-5 ... first test shots (SOOC, except for minor LR4 adjustments/crop) ...

My yard is actually a environmental test bed for dandelions. Here is one that the mower missed. It was a slow day, good to watch grass & dandelions grow.
Ha! Nice bokeh. How do you like that lens?

I haven't seen any pics from that 50 1.8 you won. How do you like it?

Thanks CR !!!

I have not received the lens yet, because Adam has had some trouble with Pentax delivering the prizes among other things ... he recently wrote that it should be on it's way soon. When I get it, I will put up some "wide open" images ASAP ... Salut, J

Wide open and at f2 please - if I may be bold enough to ask This lens design - just like the 1.7 before it - seems to be based on almost the same design as the Leica Summicron and starts performing at f2 - which is why the Leica is f2. I hardly ever set my M 50 1.7 to 1.7, usually 2 if I want sharp focus with lovely bokeh. It never disappoints - now stopped down is a different story, I don't like it too much. Anyway - I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures, and seeing what those rounded blades will do at f2 - hopefully you'll get it this summer!

MX-1 bokeh tends to the hexagonal but sometimes it is not too distracting.
