Which do you have? Liking the 85 1.4.
Mate, I don't think you can go wrong whichever direction you head, a good fast manual lens (Pentax or CZ) and a focusing screen for wide apertures is something to enjoy. I know I do.
I have five Zeiss, the Distagons 25/2.8 and 35/2 as well as the Planar 85/1.4 which are usually advertised regularly on ebay in ZK mount. The Distagon 2/28 and Planar 50/1.4 come up fairly regularly too, though I don't have either. For me the pick of the regular bunch on eBay is the 2/35. The 85 is a nice tele and would make an interesting alternative to the 77 LTD I see that you have/
The other two I have are the rarer Makro Planar 2/50 and 2/100. I'd love to find a 21/2.8 in ZK mount but rocking horse poo comes to mind with that one. The 2/100 is my favourite by a whisker from the 2/50.
I certainly like the rendering of the Zeiss lenses, and they've been a part of evolving what/how I take images of; people in the environment has become a very common theme particularly with the 50mm, the 85 wasn't seeing much love but then I started to use it for compressing distance scenes and found it to be particularly useful to capture more detail than the 50 and more of the environment than the 100. Who needs zooms with lenses like these?
Anyhoo, best of luck with the LBA.
