Those super tak 105s have quite unique properties don't they. My one never feels quite sharp until you go in close - a perfect portrait lens. And your bokeh here is most untakumar!! I have a czj tessar 40mm that does that sort of bokeh.

True! I, too was surprised at that bokeh, especially wide-open, but I think the subject matter of the b/g had a lot to do with that. I still find it to be a wonderful lens & always enjoy it.

Hawthorn, I think.
The currants are on something my wife planted in the garden, no idea what it is.

I am back to "single in" game in November so I get to exercise some bokeh photography. I am using a Soviet Biotar design 92mm (f/2) projector lens. Some say it's a Helios, other that it is a LOMO but I do not really know. what I do know is that this lens is great for my needs!

Here are some of the 1st week shots.

Clearly I'm doing something horribly wrong, as my 24-50 doesn't do that. Wow. It looks like I know what I'm shooting with today...

But I did find the white squirrel (SMC-K 300 wide open at f4, I think):

And a crazy spider, that despite its frightening look, is obviously quite good at eating bugs I don't like, so it's welcome to stay...
(FA50mm f2.8 Macro)

The brown line diagonally through the frame is a light pole. The 50 does decent bokeh sometimes, and it really is a fun lens to use.

A bluejay, from a couple days ago. They are quite the bully at the feeding stump, but was willing to share the bokeh.

SMC-K 135 at f8

Looks like a great place to test drive a lens.
