Wonderful series I love the back ground. Amazing shots

even greater knowing 1:2 at 50mm can fill up the FF sensor quite nicely
Your FA actually has a closer MFD 19 cm as opposed to Femme Fatale at 23 cm.

Thanks taks! Not everyone appreciates stories....or squirrels! For me pictures need to tell stories, have interest, and stimulate thought.....or just be fun.
Squirrels are all about fun. I watch them daily, and aside from ravenous eating habits, fun is what they are all about. We could use more fun in this world and a little less "deadly seriousness".

Best Regards!

A Light Bokeh Background

Not something I usually do... the light background malarky, but must admit I'm quite partial to this one, cross posted

My first macro lens. Surprised you had no takers. It was all I could afford at the time. Would be surprised if one
could buy anything else that light for the magnification it gives. For years it was a constant in my bag until I
thought I needed a 1:1 macro. Truth be told, it's rare I shoot 1:1, though I often do 1:2 and greater. Even though
it's only 1:2.8, the little lens could probably do 75% of my macro work. Set up a catch in focus with it, and Otis
just might give you a close up of his whiskers with some real nice bokeh in the backround!

Wow! Look at those ratings! Glad I didn't sell it, I may try to put it to use more often. I have a Kiron 105mm 2.8 that is excellent, but takes forever to focus. The little A-50 is so easy to focus fast without turning all day.

Thanks for posting that link, and enjoy yours at every opportunity.

Regards!

I was rebuilding a section of the fence, in the backyard, and found this little guy under one of the fence post caps.

Of course I had to take his picture.

DFA 100mm at f16. Close to minimal focus distance.

Hey I'm glad you got one...a little prime in your and otis's life will do you good. Smooth focusing is what I like so it sounds like a winner! BTW your shots are even more filled with nice crisp details and smooth bokeh lately, keep it up!

True but not by much...I had been thinking that 1:2 with a 50mm would fill a FF just fine but glad I confirmed it with you. Handling means something to me so the A50mm seems to be rather nice to use from what I'm gathering.

Well like with many other things, malarky is in the eye of the beholder and that example of it seems quite nice. Actually I remember reading somewhere in the past that the bokeh from this lens left something to be desired but so far this looks pretty good to me even in its brighter exposed state. I'm actually a hairs width away from getting myself a copy of this lens to try out for myself...probably a few more images will push me over the edge.

K1+FA 50mm/2.8 macro...somewhere in the mountains of Co. I did say I liked the IQ of this lens...bokeh is nice too
