Bokeh or not, Hattifnatt, it's a nice picture. I always enjoy your work. It proves that there is life after flowers in the bokeh world.

Low light and a cluttered background seem to be the key to getting this kind of bokeh out of my SMC Takumar 55 f/2. This was taken at f/4 to get the foreground black-eyed susans in focus, so I think there is something about slow shutter speeds that affects the bokeh, as well as the aperture. I can't get this effect in bright light.

Since this lens seems to live on my camera these days, here is one I shot since the sun actually came out for a little while this afternoon after days of rain, fog and oppressive humidity.
I do love this lens since I zoomed in to over twice actual size and the buds of the flower are still crisp and detailed, even DNG in windows photo viewer!
