Nice bokeh, but I should have used some fill-flash as I could not pull up enough detail and color on the spider to compensate for the back lighting.

It looks like you compensated well with post-processing, then. I would not have known from the image alone that the scene was backlit.

FYI: In the unprocessed file, the spider is almost black. Notice the very shallow DOF. I was concentrating on the body, and the hairy tufts on the rearmost legs are sharp, but the top of the head and almost the entire length of all the other legs are OOF.


CORRECTION: Those parts of the spider have been bokehed.

I am really liking the Tokina 24 2.8 lately... including the bokeh and the in-focus/out-of-focus transition.

The 18-135 can do bokeh too. On my K-70, 24mm, f/4.0.
