Yup, the A35-105 is probably the best pentax zoom lens of that era.
Absolutely agree 100%. This lens is just dynamite as far as color and selective sharpness. Though I'm surprised the contrast is just a little low but this maybe how the lens was designed (or I should use a hood). It's a very heavy lens, I'm still playing around with SR settings and focusing can be easily missed but when you hit it, it's just superb!!! The OOF v. the Focused area is quite stunning...

I feel I missed the focus here by just a hair or so but the results are quite acceptable... to me

Another stunning shot, Rick.

I think with this lens the better way to go is to disable the SR, and set the shutter speed to 1/180 or 1/250 with the ISO setting to auto-ISO and an upper limit to maybe ISO800. That way you don't have to go back to set and reset the FL on the SR settings.

This isn't a bad idea. I also get pretty good results by setting the SR focal length somewhere close to what I'm using and leave it there. For instance, when using my M75-150, I'll set the SR to 110 or so. Then make adjustments if you go close to the extremes.

I use that method for all my zooms, but for some odd reason, this lens responds better when the SR is set (close) to the FL I'm going to use.

BTW - How do you like that 75-150? I almost bought one that came with the original tele converter... probably shoud've

It's a very nice lens, very good sharpness & IQ is outstanding. Mine hasn't seen a lot of use (yet) because I don't use those FL's that often, and the lens has a min. focus distance of about 1 meter or so. But it's smallish (49mm filters) and light, and has a built-in hood, so it'll be a good lens for outdoors/portrait shots. I was lucky & found mine VERY inexpensively (part of an ME Super bundle). I would probably have more use for one like your 35-105, though. But if you can find a deal, definitely grab one
