Took the camera for a walk today.

My photos never look as sharp after I upload them as they do on my computer.

I've noticed that with mine. I think in my case it has to do with downsizing. Back in the day, the program I used for post processing allowed me to downsize, then lightly sharpen before uploading. Picasa downsizes when exporting, so I can't sharpen after downsizing unless I export to another processing program.

I like your flowers with bees, especially the one with the flopped down petal. I'm really looking forward to shooting bees myself if it ever warms up here.

Finally starting to get the hang of the D FA 100 f2.8 wr. It doesn't seem to be capable of bad bokeh, even when I mess up with the subject.

Thank you! There were bees and other bugs everywhere.

I'm using Lightroom. When I export for web, I downsize and sharpen. They usually look fine on Flickr, but when I put them on PF they don't look as good. Maybe because they are displayed bigger on the screen here than on Flickr. But sometimes they look fine here too. Weird...

Lovely bold colours. This would make a great wall piece to brighten up a room.

You have beautiful flowers all of you. I have the same impresson about the loss of quality. In this shot I really liked the sheen of the water beads on the Crocus but they got lost a bit. non-smc A 28-80 1:3.5-4.5. I love that lens, its tons of fun.

We don't all see the same thing. More than just the various losses in IQ when transporting to different sites, your monitor may be lying to you too. I use an ASUS 24" Color Perfect monitor, and it is heaven for colors and clarity. Mrs Rupert has a 27" Dell and although it is good for normal viewing, when I use it to view photos on the web, the difference is stunning.
So what she sees and what I see are often very different. There are so many factors in viewing....that is just one more.

Here is a little Woody. Not one of my best shots for certain, but in very low light at ISO 10,000 he is better than I expected.

Regards!

You're probably right about my monitor lying to me. Oh well.

Nice woodpecker!

Thanks Tina! He's a little rough but at 10,000 I can accept that!

Woody looks better at ISO 6400...but he still doesn't understand bokeh!

Mourning Doves....they understand bokeh...even at ISO 4,000!

I don't have any flowers and lovely blooms, so I depend on you guys/girls for them. Maybe you don't have any doves, woodies, or handsome squirrels...but you can count on me to provide them! I have a ton of Newbie Squirrels this year.

This one says he looks better at ISO 4000 than the Woody...I dunno??

Regards!
