Some background squirrel bokeh.

From my backyard blind.

K-3 and Tamron SP AF 300mm 2.8 LD [IF] and F 1.7x AF Adapter (510mm, ƒ4.5)
(there's an F 1.7x in the market place at a great price.)

640 ISO, ƒ5.6 AV (1/160s to 1/500s)

King Squirrel is back. He comes to the closest to my tree stump, climbs up and looks in the window at me. "Dude, is there going to be peanuts today?" Unfortunately closer than minimum focusing distance.

And the second in command among squirrels at the far end of the feeder.

And some bird bokeh

You know, Old Charlie may be on to something.....he wanted to try some Jpeg bokeh and he did pretty decent at it! He may make it on his own after all!

( I already have a PM from the damn squirrels that say Charlie's bokeh is "unacceptable") Jealous?

Regards!

Happy to see him back! So handsome! The birds shots are fine too...but birds only fowl the air, you know?

Regards!

I like it Paul...makes me want to sit down...and I'm already sitting down!

It was bound to happen....squirrels are outraged over ol' Charlie grabbing so much space and notoriety, while handsome squirrels are ignored and treated like stepchildren. I got an ugly PM from squirrels making a demand to "put and end to the Charlie stuff".

"I got my eye on you...No more Charlie!"

Not bad bokeh...for a squirrel!

Regards! Bye bye Charlie!

Thanks Rupert Those chairs are in the front of the Visitors Center on Main Street. That train-like thing in the b/g is a smoker grill outside of AJ's on Main. Good fried catfish at that place!

Sounds good to me! We'll have to try it soon!

I don't know about you guys, but I'm missing ol' Charlie already....but squirrels have to have their way, otherwise things get ugly around my place.

"Hope it is safe...but I ain't scared of nothin'! "

Again, not bad bokeh...for a squirrel!

Regards!

This picture makes me worry that somewhere there are four old codgers who can't find a place to sit down.

This guy is still angry that ol' Charlie got so much attention.....and claims squirrel bokeh is always better.....You know, I'm already missing ol' Charlie, he was really getting into the bokeh thing.

"We're better!"

Well, they are better at having fat bellies...but not so much on bokeh!

My first lens of plasmat design, Boyer Paris Saphir 1:3.5 F=75mm, designed by Suzanne Lévy-Bloch and sold as an enlarger lens during the fifties in France, s/n 465101. It came in m39 mount so it was rather easy to adapt it to my m42 focusing helicoid.

Here is a first couple of shots.

Just a couple snapshots playing with a DA 50 1.8 I snagged on that fantastic sale this past fall ($76). Nothing special, but I liked the way they came out for no thought. No post, just resized and cropped.

The first is the DA50@1.8 - 200th sec - 200 iso, and the second is the DA50@3.2 - 100th sec - 400 iso. on a K3II
