Possibly. It is one that stays here all year, and I shot it perched on the rose hips guarding the feeder. The hood is a very deep magenta color, and I had trouble getting it captured correctly. The second shot gets a bit of it, but it came out too violet in PP. Also, in the first photo the back of the bird's head shows green, but when the light hit it just so the whole head was magenta.
It looked like the bird had a full hood.
Right now the activity is at a peak. About 100 birds are constantly fighting over the 7 feeders I am maintaining. I have been observing them the last few weeks, and there are several that look like this one, and at least 3 other varieties are coming around, mostly Rufous.
