@WPRESTO I got a genus and species ID on that cone shaped flower, its a Ptilotus exaltatus. Its actually a native to Australia and as such is heat and drought tolerant. Google that if your interested and check out the images of it in full bloom...a very striking flower indeed.
So I very recently obtained something that transformed my DA*55mm. Have a look at some of the results...these are just test images of a miniature rose that has come into bloom on our patio (so far these roses seem to be doing OK here) taken a couple of days ago after one of our daily rain showers. Needless to say after spending about 20 or so minutes out there I looked like I had just jumped in a lake, I was so soaked with sweat
. Anyways for reference of scale the full bloom is about the diameter of a quarter and the buds themselves are quite small.

A Raynox 150 has unleashed a bokeh monster from the *55! (Cue mad scientist laughter and music
) In addition its been given close focus abilities. The depth of field is sooo shallow but you can see that those tiny drops are where I focused. I've had a Raynox 250 for a while but the 150 seems more suitable for the *55. I must try this on the Voigtlander Nokton as that lens is already a bokeh beast. Anyways not bad for something I picked up on Amazon in like new condition for about $30.
