Yes, some of them are just hideous beyond belief....really disgusting looking. The same can go for the females too. Most of the other birds here do not go through such a transition. It is amazing to see them a year or so after their early youth, unbelievable transformation!
One of the worst cases of "Cardinal Ugly" I have seen around here....
Fortunately they do get over it!
