If you read through the entire thread, I believe you will find that such liberties are not terribly uncommon, if the posted images are connected to the exploration of kinds of bokeh and how to get them.

I don't see any restrictions regarding camera or lens makes/models. I've used point & shoots, and even the iPhone in this thread

lol, yes, datis.

nikon d700 with Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 50mm F1.4 lens, 8 element version. I lost the exif somehow but I think it was at f1.6, ISO200, 1/1000 sec.

Correction (thanks to buberfan): It's not the Super-Multi-Coated Takumar lens that was used in producing this picture, rather it was the Super-Takumar 50mm 1.4 (A/M switch version).

Well this thread hasn't slowed down one bit - amazing shots as always. Haven't posted in a while, so I have a few pages to catch up on

Blooms and bokeh - - the posts on this thread certainly indicate it's a natural pairing. VERY shallow DOF here, so only the little dark bristles near the center of the orchid are close to in-focus, and a longish shutter speed (photo taken inside at night) means even those are slightly bokehed by movement.

Urban landscape with "bubbly" Fujinon f/2.2 55mm

Shot wide open at night with a Pentax K-01 APS-C

Of all the blubble bokeh lenses, the Fujinon 2.2/55mm is one of the most overlooked, cause it's both cheap and easy to find.
Sooner or later it will get "bokeh status", and get the consideration it deserves.
Not as bubbly as the Trioplan, but sharper. Nice optical signature. A must have for all the bokeh cult follower

Nice pic, but your description of Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 50mm F1.4 lens, 8 element version is confusing. The 8-element versions ceased production before the advent of Super Multi-Coating. All SMC or Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 50/1.4s are 7 element versions. I'd be interested to know which version this lens is.

I have three (maybe four) of them and might have got them confused, perhaps it's the naming scheme. I actually "corrected" a dude on youtube who did a video review on '5 Pentax 50mm Lenses', too, about the same thing! i hope i was right. here's the video:

i'll have to hunt down those lenses and will have to gather all the takumars and post all the 1.4's. it'll be a little frustrating since i don't have them organized and they're in a few different places in the house.

edit: it's awesome to know that there are people that know their stuff on here! don't mind be corrected either! thanks!

edit 2: okay so i managed to retrieve two 50mm 1.4s. They both say "Super-Takumar 1:1.4/50." The difference is one has an "A/M" switch and the other has "Man/Auto".
