So, after an experiment the other day using only extension rings 1 & 2 + focusing ring I went out and tried it as a portrait lens.



The results are interesting but I need to improve my focusing and play with some camera setting so to reduce post editing. Have a look on my flickr

Rikenon XR 50 1.4, lens is stuck wide open... one day I'm going to have it fixed even though it is not worth the cost of fixing it. But I like this lens a lot and have a lot of history with it...

Why not just leave it as it is? Its wide open rendering is rather lovely and I suspect you have other 50's if you want stopped down detail.
The Schneider projector lens I've been using all month has no adjustable aperture at all. It's f/2.0 or it's nothing. Rather fun
