From last year. Nik tools was at this a bit, but the core image was not that different

Those look like tread-softly (Cnidoscolus stimulosus). It is a member of the Spurge family, and while not a nettle, the seed pods, leaves and stems are covered with stinging hairs that can cause a severe allergic reaction in some people. I saw it in Florida in the spring. If you find it in the wild, take lots of pictures but don't touch.

Thank you for that probable id. I'll check it out in a book and also check where I took the photo, with all the fury of posting for the contest(s) I lose track of which file yielded some images, especially of flowers.

That's really nice Allen, really nice! - I prefer the delicate colors & softer textures in the first. They go with the ephemeral nature of the subject and lighting.

Couple of pictures from visiting Berlin with the DFA 24-70. Decent bokeh I would say although it doesn't hold against FA 77 for instance.

I like it better than the second

but I have to admit the B/W has " some thing "
