Those look like tread-softly (Cnidoscolus stimulosus). It is a member of the Spurge family, and while not a nettle, the seed pods, leaves and stems are covered with stinging hairs that can cause a severe allergic reaction in some people. Thank you for that probable id. I'll check it out in a book and also check where I took the photo, with all the fury of posting for the contest(s) I lose track of which file yielded some images, especially of flowers.

That's really nice Allen, really nice! - I prefer the delicate colors & softer textures in the first. They go with the ephemeral nature of the subject and lighting.

Couple of pictures from visiting Berlin with the DFA 24-70. Decent bokeh I would say although it doesn't hold against FA 77 for instance.
